Nurturing a love of learning through play.
Welcome to Growing Seeds Preschool at the Lincoln Park/De Paul/Lakeview neighborhood, your full-day daycare and preschool that serves children between 2 and 5 years old.
About Us
At Growing Seeds, we nurture our little ones through a creative environment, carefully designed to encourage them to express themselves.
Building a Life-Long Love of Learning Through Play
We help your little ones grow the small voice inside them that is just waiting to be heard! Children know that it is A-OK to make mistakes, to fall, to cry, and to try new things as they explore the world around them through play-based activities, storytelling, music and art.
We prepare fun and stimulating activities that encourage discovery and independence, interaction and friendship, in order to build a foundation for a life-long love of learning.
Support Between the Home and the School
We believe that though the classroom plays a tremendous role in developing a child’s outlook to learning, this outlook is also formed within a family’s distinct values and culture.
We would very much want you, and your community involved in your child’s education. This happens not only through feedback and communication from you, the parents, but also by us mutually sharing teaching tools and insights, for a fuller, more holistic experience of learning between the classroom and the home.
Customized Individual Daily Lesson Plans
Our teachers are specially trained to facilitate our well-rounded curriculum that touches on all aspects of your child’s development–cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth. We also make sure that learning is tailor-fit to your child’s needs. Our teachers understand each child’s learning style, and prepare customized daily lesson plans for each of our learners.
Come Visit Us
Our space is designed and furnished with children in mind. We have designated areas for quiet and active play, reading, arts, sensory and pretend play. The equipment and toys have been carefully selected to facilitate learning and achieve curriculum goals.
A Letter
from our Founder
Welcome! My name is Claudine David, an Early Childhood Education teacher and a parent of two boys myself. I have always loved teaching and spending time with young children. It has been my dream to start a school with teachers that share the same philosophy we have here at Growing Seeds Preschool.
Our Programs
Regular School Year
The regular school year runs for 36 weeks from September to June. Rolling enrollment and reservation is available.
Check our calendar for our current schedule.
Drop-in Care
We provide emergency care service to families when child care gaps occur due to unforeseen work schedule changes or school closure. Once your child is registered, you may book your dates online.
Summer Program
Ten weeks of creativity and fun, each with a different theme and weekly field trips to neighborhood splash pads. Families may choose to sign up for the weeks they need or for all 10 weeks!
What teaching method do you use?
We offer a play-based approach. Our program is a balance of open-ended play and structured play.
Play helps develop social skills, self regulation and cognitive flexibility.
Academic learning naturally follows as kids gain confidence in how to interact in their
surroundings.
We at Growing Seeds Preschool help students be kindergarten ready!
What is your capacity?
Our class will have 16 students at most at a given time.
DCFS requires us to have a 1 staff to 8 children ratio.
Can I bring my child during the tour?
Yes, we actually encourage it. Having your child look around the facility gives them a
chance to feel excited about this new phase in their life.
Does my child need to be potty-trained before starting at Growing Seeds?
No, it is not a requirement to start. Each child has their own timeline in learning how to use the toilet. Once we notice signs of readiness from your child, we will let you know, so you can start potty-training at home.
